Financial Review

Phil Nelson stated due to a billing error in July the minimum income figures are incorrectly inflated and adjustment is shown in the August figures.  Also stated food sales are down for the year 7% and beverage sales are down 18%.  Christa Bodensteiner reported paid rounds were down 10 in July and 7% in August and that member rounds were down 40% in July and down 6% in August.  The reason for the high amount in July was the Men’s Member Guest usually held in July, was moved to May.  Kristen Prunier reported Tennis had a moderate summer with limited play in the afternoons due to the hot summer.
Ladies Golf Association

Pat Richardson reported the annual Rally for the Cure tournament was highly successful with 56 ladies and 16 men participating.  The total amount raised is still being finalized and will be reported next month.  The ladies will begin the President’s Cup/Club championship today.

Men’s Golf Association

Joe Greco reported the Men’s President’s Cup/Club championship will begin on Wednesday.  This year the men’s and women’s champion will be announced at one of the regularly scheduled member dinner events in an effort to increase participation.  Annual match play will begin in October and the men’s fall Brunch is scheduled for October 27th.

LCC Tournament Committee

David Reid reported the Fall Mixer tournament is this Saturday and good participation is expected.  LCC placed 5th in the men’s Interclub tournament.  Mr. Reid also announced there will be a cooperative effort with the members of Pawley’s Plantation to combine both clubs men’s member guest for 2011.  Mr. Crabb stated he had met with key members and the idea was receiving positive response.

Tennis

Kristen Pruiner, stated the SC State Closed tournament went well with less participants than hoped which was due mainly to the USTA’s decision on points distribution to facilities hosting the events.  The Club championship is scheduled for October 15th-17th and the annual Oktoberfest tournament and party will be October 30th.

Golf

Christa Bodensteiner stated Assistant Pro Frank Kelley has moved to California however at this time a replacement is not being considered.  The next Demo Day will be October 8th and will feature major golf companies for this one day event.

Membership

Phil Nelson reported July and August had little activity with two new members and four resignations.  David Reid proposed to the Advisory Board that a plan of some type featuring a reduced initiation fee with a dues adjustment be considered by Myrtle Beach National in efforts to increase membership.  Mr. Crabb assured Mr. Reid the proposal would be addressed in due time with senior management.

LCC Property Owners Association

Bleeker Cannon reported that in addition of the resignation of Bob Bicknell due to moving there have also been two other resignations from the board creating openings which have yet to be filled.  The “Dog Days of Summer” parade and cook out at LCC was well attended with a good time for all.  The current paid membership is at 192 with a goal of 200.

Clubhouse

Phil Nelson had nothing new to report.  Jim Jerow asked if the members would be able to use their food and beverage minimum at Pawley’s Plantation.  Mr. Crabb replied a decision has not been made at this time.

The Special Events Committee

Ed Blackhurst stated the Fall Gala is October 22nd and is expecting a good turn attendance.  This year the popular band “Latitude” will be performing.

Old Business/New Business
